House lawmakers are considering bills meant to increase nuclear development in the US, an effort supported by both Republicans and Democrats.
The House Energy and Commerce Committee on Tuesday discussed six nuclear regulatory proposals, including ones to streamline licensing hearings (H.R. 5549), make it easier to recycle nuclear fuel (H.R. 3978), and require the Energy Department to announce licensing decisions (H.R. 9084).
