Miami Beach Can Limit Jewish Anti-Zionist Group’s Protest Area

Miami Beach won’t likely violate the speech rights of a Jewish anti-Zionist group by requiring it to hold its protest at a popular art show in a designated area, a federal court said.

A police ordinance that limits the area where protests are allowed is “content neutral, narrowly tailored to serve a significant governmental interest, and leaves open ample alternative channels for communication,” Judge Rodolfo A. Ruiz II of the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said Monday, denying the group’s motion for an expedited preliminary injunction.
