Cardiology Firm Defeats Prosecutors’ Fraud Claims at Trial (1)

US and North Carolina prosecutors failed to convince a federal jury that Ferncreek Cardiology PA and others violated the False Claims Act by improperly billing Medicare and Medicaid.

The US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina jury issued a unanimous verdict Monday finding that Ferncreek didn’t knowingly present any false claim to the federal health-care programs.
