A Texas school district is refusing to display a copy of the Ten Commandments in classrooms, drawing a lawsuit from the state for violating a statute that’s being challenged as unconstitutional in separate litigation.
Galveston Independent School District declined to put up displays even though it isn’t one of the schools covered by an injunction a federal court granted this summer, Attorney General Ken Paxton’s (R) office alleged in the suit Friday.
