BGOV OnPoint: Lawmakers Poised to End Record-Setting Shutdown

The House is set to vote today on a stopgap funding deal that would end the longest federal government shutdown in history after more than six weeks.

The measure, H.R. 5371, would fund most of the government through Jan. 30 at fiscal 2025 levels. It also would provide full-year fiscal 2026 funding for the Agriculture Department, Food and Drug Administration, the Legislative Branch, military construction projects, and the Veterans Affairs Department.
