JM Eagle, previously known as J-M Manufacturing Co., filed a revamped complaint against the class action law firm Simmons Hanly Conroy LLP, reviving the company’s claims the firm engaged in fraudulent tactics in hundreds of asbestos lawsuits against it.
Judge Robert Gettleman previously dismissed the suit without prejudice because the complaint didn’t sufficiently allege an enterprise that could give rise to claims under the Racketeered Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act. JM Eagle’s amended complaint, filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, adds claims against another asbestos litigation practice, Sokolove Law.
