Keller Williams Realty LLC has agreed to pay $20 million to settle claims that it conspired with the National Association of Realtors and other industry players to fix real estate broker commissions and inflate home prices.
The homebuyer plaintiffs’ request for preliminary approval of the deal was filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Homebuyers sued in 2021, claiming Keller Williams and other defendant brokerages forced them to pay inflated commissions in violation of various states’ antitrust and consumer protection statutes, as well as Section 1 of the Sherman Act.
