Warner Bros. Pending Merger Marred by Corruption, Democrats Warn

The expected sale of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. may be tainted by corruption and political favoritism, according to a statement published Wednesday by Democratic senators.

• “According to reports, the Trump Administration has a preference for Paramount Skydance to win the bidding process” for Warner Bros., Senators Elizabeth Warren and Richard Blumenthal and Independent Senator Bernie Sanders wrote to the Justice Department
• The DOJ’s review of the merger must be “conducted transparently, independently, and in accordance with federal antitrust and anticorruption law,” lawmakers
