Major tech companies have until May 19 to comply with a law requiring them to establish a process to remove intimate photos and video posted without consent on their platforms, the FTC said Monday.
Amazon, Alphabet, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok and X were among more than a dozen companies who received a letter from Andrew Ferguson, the Federal Trade Commission’s chairman. The Take It Down Act (TIDA) was championed by First Lady Melania Trump and signed into law in May 2025.
