Nvidia Chip Sale to ByteDance Subject to US Govt Conditions:Rtrs

Nvidia has not agreed to proposed conditions from the US for China using their H200 chips even though the Trump administration is willing to allow ByteDance to buy the AI chip, Reuters reports, citing a person familiar with the matter.

  • The US said it would approve the license about two weeks ago, Reuters cited the person as saying, but Nvidia has not accepted the government’s Know-Your-Customer requirement as now drafted - to ensure China’s military does not access the chips - among other conditions
