Pope Leo XIV’s launch of his first encyclical focusing on artificial intelligence next week will feature an unexpected guest: Christopher Olah, co-founder of Anthropic.
Olah, an expert of machine learning, will join Pope Leo at the highly awaited launch of the pontiff’s first encyclical on May 25, the Vatican said Monday.
Other speakers including Vatican secretary of state, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, will also speak at the publication of the encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, expected to outline the pope’s views on preserving humans in the age of AI.
