Spain’s money laundering watchdog slapped
CaixaBank was handed several fines totaling more than €30 million ($35 million) combined, according to the people. That’s one of the highest amounts ever imposed by the agency known as Sepblac.
A CaixaBank spokesperson said the bank has appealed the fines and declined to comment any further. A representative for the Economy Ministry, which oversees Sepblac, declined to comment.
