Credit Agricole Poised to Settle Dividend Tax Case in France

Credit Agricole SA’s investment banking arm is poised to settle a criminal case into trades allegedly designed to escape taxes on dividend payments, according to people familiar with the matter, confirming an earlier report by France Info.

Prosecutors from the Parquet National Financier will outline the proposed fine in front of a Paris judge on Monday, who will then decide whether to approve the settlement, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
