RFK Jr. Commits to Divesting Interests in HPV Vaccine Litigation

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pledged to divest his financial stakes in lawsuits against Merck, the producer of HPV vaccine Gardasil, according to written responses provided to lawmakers on the Senate Finance Committee.

Kennedy, who has been tapped by President Donald Trump to lead the Health and Human Services Department, wrote he would amend his ethics agreement to the Office of Government Ethics to reassign his financial claims “via an assignment to my non-dependent, adult son.”

The change in course from Kennedy comes as Democrats lambasted the nominee during confirmation hearings this week for profiting off of lawsuits against vaccines. ...
