Alaska Air Hires Accenture to Review IT After Multiple Outages

Alaska Air Group Inc. said it hired Accenture to audit its technology systems after multiple outages in recent months.

The group, which also owns Hawaiian Airlines, said in a statement that the review will enable it to “build a more resilient, reliable and guest-centered operation.” Accenture’s review will include a “top-to-bottom” assessment of its current technology systems, and will provide recommendations that will be implemented quickly.

The airline was forced to cancel hundreds of flights earlier this month, disrupting travel for 49,000 passengers over two days, when key systems failed. The outage came the same day as the airline released ...
