Argentina Broadens Tokenization Rules to Cover Stocks, Bonds

Argentina’s National Securities Commission (CNV) expanded the types of assets eligible for tokenization, according to a statement.

  • The CNV said shares, including dual-listed stocks, corporate bonds and depository receipts will be permitted for digital representation
  • The new framework allows settlement and clearing agents to act as registered holders, while certain digital asset service providers may join the central securities depository as depositors
    • Investors will retain the right to convert tokenized holdings back into traditional form at any time
  • The regime is set to be implemented through a regulatory sandbox until Aug. 21, 2026, with the CNV retaining the option ...
