Bankrupt Camp Owner Wins Access to Cash Days Before Kids Arrive

Bankrupt sleep-away camp operator Simad Holdings won court approval to tap lenders’ cash needed to open dozens of camps on time just days before thousands of children are due to arrive for the summer.

Judge Christine Gravelle said during a Wednesday court hearing she would authorize Simad to use the cash to keep covering payroll and to pay vendors providing food, medical supplies, buses, maintenance and other critical services as the camps prepare to open for the season.
