FCC Grants Assignment of Allen Media Licenses to Gray Media

FCC has granted the assignment of the licenses of certain broadcast television stations to Gray Media’s Gray Television Licensee from units of Allen Media.

• Licenses are for broadcast television stations WLFI-TV, Lafayette, Ind.; WTHI-TV, Terre Haute, Ind.; and WTVA(TV), Tupelo, Miss.
• FCC says applications fully comply with its rules and granting of licenses would serve the public interest
• DIRECTV had filed a petition to deny the applications contending that they created that they propose to create a “new local concentration”
  • Other objections were filed opposing Gray’s “pursuit of further local market concentration”
