JetBlue Mulls Legal Options Against Portugal Over Airport Access

JetBlue Airways Corp. may look at taking legal action against Portugal after what it claims are moves to limit US flights into the European nation.

American carriers are being denied access to fly into Lisbon, Portugal’s main international airport, JetBlue said in an Aug. 28 regulatory filing. The US airline said airport slot requests to land there have been “repeatedly” rejected since 2023.

JetBlue’s comments surfaced in a submission to the US Department of Transportation that was a response to American Airlines Group Inc., United Airlines Holdings Inc. and Delta Air Lines Inc. about America’s “open skies” policy with Europe, ...
