Payments Firm Flipcause Files Bankruptcy After Ordered to Halt

Nonprofit fundraising platform Flipcause Inc. filed bankruptcy weeks after California’s attorney general ordered the company to cease operations following reported delays in transferring donations to charities.

Oakland-based Flipcause sought court protection Friday in Delaware, listing assets and liabilities of at least $10 million each on its Chapter 11 petition. The company offers a payment-processing platform to small nonprofit organizations and said it has at least 1,000 creditors, according to its bankruptcy petition.
