Puerto Rico Solar Dealers Challenge Sunnova Bankruptcy Plan

Puerto Rico’s solar installers are challenging Sunnova Energy’s bankruptcy plan over undistributed funds from a Department of Energy program aimed at installing panels in low-income communities.

Windmar Energy, Power Solar, and Integrated Solar Operations accused Sunnova of failing to pay dealers under the DOE-sponsored fund, despite a July court order requiring it to meet those obligations. The companies are still owed about $17.4 million collectively, according to court papers filed Monday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
