Spirit Aviation Holdings Inc. pilots are assessing the financial data behind the bankrupt company’s demand for $100 million in annual contract concessions before deciding whether to agree.
The Air Line Pilots Association unit at the parent of Spirit Airlines told members a decision is contingent upon evaluating the carrier’s plan to reorganize in a second Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to a memo seen by Bloomberg News.
Spirit also must secure the financing needed to survive and offer “meaningful shared sacrifices” by stakeholders before an agreement is considered, the ALPA branch said.
