Trump-Backed House Republicans Go for Senate: BGOV Election Day

Three House Republicans are seeking to secure Senate nominations today with President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

Reps. Mike Collins of Georgia and Barry Moore of Alabama are trying to parlay the president’s backing into GOP primary runoff victories. Rep. Kevin Hern of Oklahoma is the Trump-endorsed front-runner for an open seat in his state’s regular primary.

Collins, a House member since 2023, won Trump’s eleventh-hour endorsement June 14 over Derek Dooley, a former college football coach backed by Gov. Brian Kemp (R).
