A top US official said a communications breakdown between the Secret Service and local police was a major security failure surrounding the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
Ronald Rowe, the acting head of the embattledSecret Service, told senators on Tuesday that his agency was ultimately responsible for failing to prevent the shooting earlier this month. However, he said that local law enforcement didn’t fully carry out its assigned tasks and communication problems prevented his agents from understanding the full threat.
