AI Deepfake Porn Without Consent is Target of House GOP Bill (1)

Lawmakers are seeking to curb the sudden prevalence of non-consensual deepfake pornography generated by artificial intelligence by outlawing it.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) is set to introduce legislationon Wednesday that would make it a criminal offense to produce or distribute deepfake, sexually explicit imagery of individuals without their consent. The bill, first obtained by Bloomberg Government, is co-sponsored by Republican Reps. Anna Paulina Luna (Fla.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), and Bob Good (Va.).
