AI ‘Roadmap’ Calls For Action on Key Bipartisan Bills, Policies

Senators ramped up their response to the artificial intelligence boom by releasing a policy plan designed to kick-start legislative action that promotes the technology’s development and prevents its harms.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday unveiled a 30-page “policy roadmap” with Sens. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), and Todd Young (R-Ind.)—members of a bipartisan working group on AI that first met nearly a year ago to address the technology’s sweeping economic, social, and national security implications.
