Air Force Has $3.5 Billion Wish List While Navy Needs $2.2 Billion

The Air Force has submitted a $3.5 billion wish list to Congress that includes $266.3 million for military exercises in the Pacific region.

Another $1.1 billion would go towards military construction projects and another $1.5 billion to restock spare parts for aircraft that would be grounded because they lack the necessary parts.

Military services and commands send their wish lists, or unfunded priorities, to Congress after the official budget request is submitted. The lists serve as guiding documents for congressional defense committees when they write the annual authorization and spending measures.
