Alaska Air Suspends 2026 Guidance as Fuel Costs Hit Industry (1)

Alaska Air Group Inc. suspended its full-year profit guidance and forecast a deeper loss than Wall Street expects for the second quarter, as the US carrier grapples with rising fuel costs amid war in the Middle East.

“Until conditions stabilize and we have better sight to earnings beyond the current quarter, we have suspended full-year guidance,” the Seattle-based airline announced with its quarterly results on Monday.

The fuel prices contributed to a volatile quarter marked by disruptions from rainstorms in Hawaii and civil unrest in Puerto Vallarta ahead of the peak spring break travel season, Alaska said.
