Anti-Abortion GOP Senators Relieved Over Makary Resignation (1)

Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary’s resignation Tuesday was met with relief from a subset of GOP senators who say the doctor froze out the anti-abortion movement.

“He’s been uniquely destructive when it comes to the pro-life movement,” said Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), who voted to confirm Makary to the role. “He’s frozen out pro-life leaders. He slow-walked the review of mifepristone that he promised me.”
