Hurdles Await Lawmakers’ Next Minibus
Appropriators made significant headway to fund agencies long-term but still face a number of hurdles before the next spending package can become law.
The bicameral and bipartisan spending package released yesterday covers Commerce-Justice-Science, Energy and Water, and Interior-Environment programs. The House will take up the minibus later this week, but the package could run into problems in the Senate. The House Rules Committee will meet later today to take up the bill.
Funding for the National Center for Atmospheric Research is still an issue for Democratic Colorado Sens. Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper.
