Armed Services Panel to Focus on Boosting US Defense Industry

Bolstering the US defense industrial base—from shoring up a skilled national security workforce to allowing new entrants to military contracts—is the top priority for the House Armed Services Committee this year, said Chairman Mike Rogers.

“Our stockpiles of critical defense articles have fallen to dangerously low levels,” Rogers (R-Ala.) said Wednesday.

As the war on Iran entered its fifth day, US stockpiles of its most expensive weapons are being depleted, making the focus on industrial capacity and speed paramount for the committee.
