Army Corps Misses Hill Deadline on Future of Oregon Dams Report

Tribes and wildlife advocates are concerned endangered fish populations in Oregon are running out of time because the Army Corps of Engineers has failed to provide a key assessment of hydropower removal at several expensive dams in the state.

The agency missed a June 22 deadline required by the 2022 Water Resources Development Act to submit a report outlining the elimination of hydropower at multiple dams operating in the populous Willamette River Basin, which includes Portland.
