The US Army wants a major funding boost for advertising and marketing as America’s largest military service struggles with recruiting shortfalls and has been forced to significantly reduce its active-duty soldier numbers.
The Army is planning for $1.1 billion in advertising funds for fiscal year 2025, or a 10% increase from this year’s request, Army Undersecretary Gabe Camarillo told reporters at the Pentagon Monday. Another $675 million would go toward enlistment incentives such as bonuses.
