Army’s Ground War-Focused Weapons Vulnerable in Funding Fights

Army weapons systems look like clear options for Pentagon and Trump administration officials planning significant changes to defense spending, according to Bloomberg Government analysis.

Multibillion-dollar Army programs such as General Dynamics Corp.‘s M-1 tank modernization, Boeing‘s AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, and Bell Textron’s Future Long-Range Attack Aircraft could be in the administration’s crosshairs.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in February directed military and civilian agencies within the Pentagon to draw up lists of programs that would contribute to an 8% reduction in defense spending for each of the next five fiscal years, starting with fiscal 2026.
