The Homeland Security and Justice departments would receive $71.7 billion in multiyear funding under draft legislation released by Senate Republicans on May 4.
The proposed reconciliation bill unveiled by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Judiciary committees would fund President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda through the end of his term while bypassing the Senate’s 60-vote threshold and the need to obtain Democratic support.
The total would include $38.2 billion for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and $26 billion for US Customs and Border Protection. All funds would remain available through fiscal 2029.
