BGOV Bill Analysis: Cuba War Powers

President Donald Trump would be directed to remove US military forces from operations in or against Cuba under S. J. Res. 124.

This measure would be the seventh time the 119th Congress has voted to use the 1973 War Powers Resolution to restrict US military action in the Caribbean. The previous legislation addressed Trump’s operations against Venezuela and South American vessels alleged by the White House to be carrying drugs for Venezuelan cartels.
