BGOV Bill Analysis: Extend Haiti Temporary Immigration Relief

The Department of Homeland Security would be required to designate Haiti for temporary protected status until April 20, 2029, under a Democratic bill that is eligible for a House floor vote following a successful discharge petition.

The discharge petition would allow Democratic lawmakers to force a vote on a resolution (H. Res. 965) that would modify and set up consideration of an underlying bill (H.R. 1689) to extend TPS for Haiti.
