The Defense Department and other national security programs would be authorized to receive $900.6 billion under the House amendment to S. 1071, the compromise agreement on the fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act.

The total authorization for the Pentagon, Energy Department, and related defense activities would be roughly $8 billion more than the Trump administration’s request, according to the joint explanatory statement on the bill.
