BGOV Bill Analysis: H.R. 9022, FY27 Energy and Water Funds

The Energy Department, Army Corps of Engineers, and related agencies would receive $58.5 billion in discretionary funding for fiscal 2027 under H.R. 9022, a roughly 0.8% increase above fiscal 2026 levels.

The total amount would include $35 billion in defense spending and $23.5 billion in nondefense spending, according to a House Appropriations Committee summary of the measure.

The Energy Department would have to repurpose renewable energy infrastructure funds, and couldn’t enforce clean energy standards for federal buildings issued during the Biden administration.
