Veterans Affairs Department programs covering disability, healthcare, education, and other benefits would be overhauled by H.R. 9237.

The measure would allow more combat-injured veterans to receive both full military retirement pay and disability compensation benefits, increase payments to veterans with severe service-related disabilities, and let surviving spouses keep VA benefits if they remarry. It also would modify VA healthcare and education policies and overhaul elements of the agency’s organization and workforce.
