This measure would be the ninth vote on Iran that lawmakers have forced using the Vietnam-era War Powers Resolution, which lets Congress vote to remove US forces from overseas hostilities that haven’t been explicitly authorized by a formal declaration of war or a congressional authorization for the use of military force.
None of the Iran war powers votes have succeeded in Congress, including two previous concurrent resolutions considered in the House.
