BGOV Bill Analysis: S. 2806, Automatic Continuing Resolutions

Federal funding would be automatically extended at existing levels if Congress hasn’t enacted appropriations legislation by the start of a new fiscal year under S. 2806.

Under the measure, federal agencies would be provided with the funds necessary to maintain programs, projects, and activities at their existing rate of operations without the need for additional congressional action, preventing a government shutdown in the event of a lapse in regular appropriations.
