Homeland Security Department funding and ethanol-15 sales are the subjects of two deadlines that lawmakers are confronting this week.
Both chambers are weighing options for funding the Homeland Security Department before it expires after Feb. 13, as Democrats demand restraints on immigration enforcement activities in exchange for providing funds.
A group of House Republicans named to the E-15 Rural Domestic Energy Council are also working against a Feb. 15 deadline to draft legislative recommendations on year-round sales of E-15 and other rural energy priorities.
