The record-setting government shutdown came to an end this week after lawmakers passed a three-bill appropriations minibus and a continuing resolution to Jan. 30 for all other agencies.
The measure (H.R. 5371) funds the majority of the government at fiscal 2025 levels and provides full-year fiscal 2026 funding for the Agriculture-FDA, Legislative Branch, and Military Construction-VA appropriations bills. The three enacted appropriations bills have a combined discretionary price tag of about $187.3 billion — roughly 10% of all discretionary spending.
