Arizona Republican Debbie Lesko is a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump and has made border security a central focus of her work since joining Congress in 2018 after winning a special election.
Her centrally located, solidly Republican suburban district is situated northwest of Phoenix and includes Peoria, Surprise, and part of Glendale. Lesko supports securing the U.S. border with Mexico, including the construction of an extensive border wall. In April 2021, she lauded Republican Governor Doug Ducey for taking action at the state level to send the National Guard to the border amid increases in migrant crossings.
