House lawmakers advanced a package of legislation aimed at speeding up deployment of high-speed internet to American households and businesses.
A House Energy and Commerce panel on Tuesday approved seven broadband-related bills that seek to better track federal deployment requests, prioritize and accelerate reviews, expedite approval and permitting processes, remove environmental review obligations, and implement “shot clocks” for action, among other provisions.
