Bipartisan Support Builds for Climate Center Trump Plans to Shut

Colorado lawmakers are building backing for a climate research hub in hopes bipartisan support for the endangered program will slow the Trump administration’s move to dismantle it.

Rep. Joe Neguse (D-Colo.) is circulating a letter of support in both chambers of Congress for the National Center for Atmospheric Research, according to two sources familiar with the effort. Signatories include Neguse, who represents Boulder where NCAR is based, and Republican Jeff Hurd, who represents the state’s Western Slope, the sources said.
