Republicans aim to approve nearly $70 billion in border security funding in the Homeland Security Committee’s portion of a sweeping GOP-only tax and policy package.
- The panel’s section includes funds for hiring and retaining Border Patrol agents and customs officers, expanding wall construction, and upgraded technology. Proposal also includes $1 billion for 2028 Olympics security planning.
