The Senate Budget Committee forwarded part of Republicans’ immigration and border enforcement funding bill to the floor Wednesday, allowing lawmakers in the coming hours to take up the whole $72 billion package.
Senators voted 11-10 along party lines to advance the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee’s share of the GOP budget reconciliation bill, which will be combined with the Judiciary Committee’s portion before the Senate votes to send it to the House.
