The chair of the new California Senate committee with oversight over privacy said his panel will take a balanced approach to regulating the tech industry that ensures consumer protection without hindering sector growth.
“The point here is not that we need to go after industry. We’re not going after industry,” state Sen. Christopher Cabaldon (D) said in an interview with Bloomberg Government. “We need clear rules of the road, both to protect people and to protect innovation, and we need those now.”
